The Best of Casper’s Coffee Scene

Ok.. I’ll be honest. When I think fancy coffee– the kind of coffee you find when you search #LatteArt on Instagram– Casper, Wyoming is not the first place that comes to mind.

But if you look around, we actually have a ton of coffee shops in this town and they’re not just your cup of average joe joints. Sure, we’ve got a few Starbucks, but we are also lucky to have a handful of trendy local shops. So, whether you’re a triple shot non-fat extra whip coconut milk cappuccino goddess or you take it strong, bitter and black, here’s everything you need to know about Casper’s caffeine situation.

If we’re talking coffee, we have to start with Metro Coffee Company. It was kind of the original coffee hangout before the big guys came to town and it continues to be a staple. Not only does it provide the ultimate antique vibe with retro couches and a ton of gathering space, they always have live musical performances, local artists’ art on the walls and crazy friendly baristas who greet you by name.

Thank goodness for Blue Ridge Coffee. For those of us who have to take the trek across town too many times a day via Outer Drive, a coffee shop en route is an actual lifesaver. They’ve got a huge but cozy interior space and a (much appreciated) drive through. And if you’re looking to get a bajillion Instagram likes, pair your afternoon iced coffee with a stuffed avocado or a maple bacon croissant donut. **drooling**

On any given day you can probably find me in line for a latte or a cortado at Grant Street Grocery Coffee Lab. This stop is a little off the beaten path, but very much worth the trip. IMG_2403.jpg

If you’ve ever driven down 12th or 2nd streets (and of course you have), you’ve probably seen cars lining up at tiny huts. Well, good things come in small packages. While you can’t post up at La Barista for an afternoon, their deliciously crafted drinks are worth a quick stop.

Another one of my local loves: Java Jitters Espresso. There’s a chance you may have missed this place driving by on 2nd street. It’s tucked in a strip mall across from Albertson’s on the east side of town. This place is always thinking up new and exciting drinks. So, if you’re in the market for a new favorite latte, don’t walk, RUN to Java Jitters.

There are even a couple new kids on the block. (And that’s not event a metaphor… they are literally on the same block.) Say hello to Scarlows Art & Coffee and the Bourgeois Pig. These newbies to the Casper coffee scene are giving the people of Casper just what we need: more caffiene, more cozy and trendy places to connect and suuuuper amazing Instagram content. . I’ve been so excited for these two to open I’m pretty sure I was one of Scarlow’s first customers on their official opening day.

With that, my mouth is drooling and I’m itching for a cup of the good stuff. I just KNOW I missed some amazing vibey coffee shops in the Oil City. If I missed your favorite, leave a comment and tell me where I need to get my next caffeine fix!

Go forth and be caffeinated, Casper.

  1. You missed City Brew which is one of my favorites. Casey, my standard white poodle, also gets excited when we enter the drive up. She always expects a treat. They have a West and Eastside store. ❤️❤️❤️
